Angie Wong
Cinematographer, Photographer and Director
Since the age of 8, I have been making my own short videos and uploading them to YouTube, and creating videos made me feel happiest. I am a queer POC filmmaker and I am always eager to learn, and to take on new and rewarding opportunities to grow and develop my career in filmmaking. My goal is to connect and collaborate with as many people in the industry and making everyone have the best experience possible. More than happy to help volunteer or shadow on set if you need anyone! I hope I am able to get unpaid or even paid experience and be able to work and learn onsite and directly. I can take your photos too!
My story
Currently, I am studying the Bachelor of Film & TV (Honours) at Swinburne University of Technology.
Working mainly as a cinematographer, I also have experience in producing, directing, editing, lighting and writing.
Having completed the Diploma and the Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media last year, I have gained lots of on set and in class experience and I have worked with different cinema cameras. I have worked on more than 10 sets last year on mostly short films, a couple documentaries, a web-series and a feature film. I have also been on numerous sets outside of university as well and I am very familiar with the responsibilities of each department and crew role. Primarily being a cinematographer, I have shot a couple of films and will be shooting two more for our grad films next year. Photography is also a big hobby of mine and I have a lot of experience in doing stills and BTS photography on set. I mainly shoot on film! but I also love digital. I did an internship in New York City with Atlantic Pictures, gaining lots of professional on set experience on projects such as: indie short films, commercials and promotional videos. I also did an internship with ABC News from April to June 2023, and I have gained practical experience on different departments such as broadcasting, editing, news, finance and lots of camera experience. My camerawork and photography for ABC News has been featured on TV and articles as well.
